Steps in Land Leveling
Land development involves several steps:
Planning: Before proceeding with excavation, you must provide us with a survey plan (to determine the slope and elevation of the land) along with a soil study to check for clayey soil. Evaluating erosion risks is also part of the planning process.
Clearing: To clear the land, it is necessary to excavate and remove vegetation, trees, stumps, large rocks, and clayey soil. Sometimes, existing buildings or installations must be demolished and the materials transported to a designated disposal facility.
This step should be carried out after first contacting Info-Excavation to determine the location of underground infrastructures.
Excavation: Our company will use an excavator to remove the clayey soil and replace it, then shape the land and level it (performing cut and fill work if the elevation needs to be raised or lowered). The soil is then compacted and a final grading is performed.
Finishing: The land is prepared for the final landscaping. The soil can be seeded with topsoil, while rocks can be placed along slopes to prevent erosion (for roads or parking lots).
For certain projects, the excavation company can also install paving stones, as well as plant trees, shrubs, or hedges.
